TrailCaps: Branding with Purpose - click to learn more
Role:
I serve as Creative Director and Cofounder of TrailCaps, helping a business partner and friend develop the brand, a purpose-driven line of hats focused on mental health, with plans to launch at the end of 2026.
Challenge:
TrailCaps needed to position itself as more than a fashion accessory, creating an identity that communicates purpose, fosters community, and encourages people to prioritize their mental health.
Strategy:
Developed a purpose-driven brand identity connecting each cap to mental wellness and community. Crafted cohesive assets across digital, social, and environmental touchpoints, while targeting specific athletes with inspiring comeback stories related to mental health to represent the brand and embody its mission.
Results:
Early testing showed that TrailCaps’ identity strongly resonated with its audience, with 87% of participants describing the brand as “authentic” and “inspiring.” Social prototypes achieved a 45% engagement rate and 32% share intent among target users, while focus groups confirmed that 90% felt the messaging and visuals clearly communicated the brand’s purpose and fostered a sense of community around mental health.
